4 Things You Can Do To Boost Your Confidence At Work
You may be a subject matter expert and you may have razor sharp skills but you will admit that you lack confidence around the office when it comes to “strutting your stuff.” For many, it’s easy to sit at a desk and develop a strong cyber-personality. If you grumble at the thought of raising your profile at work, here are 4 things you can do today to boost your confidence at work tomorrow.
1. Dress better: Yes it’s true. You have to look the part or fake it until you make it. Check out other women in the office and see if you can mimic their style if you like their look.
2. Smile more often: When you smile at people, they smile back (Most of the time.) You want to be memorable and thought of as interesting and/or engaging.
3. Channel your inner diva: Float through the halls like Barbara Streisand or Patti Labelle with your head held high. Imagine that all the world really is a stage and you my dear are ready for your close up.
4. Learn how to tell a joke: I truly believe that everyone should know how to tell at least one joke. It can help you win fans and impress colleagues who begin to see you as someone worth connecting with.
Good luck with boosting that confidence level and let me know how it goes!
